Exuberant 1969 free-jazz album, featuring a *chorus* for a big, bold sound. Accentuated by some very '60s guitar sounds (esp. 1,8). The singers are at the fore more than Eddie's trumpet. He solos on tracks 4 through 7 with a bright tone and almost Spanish feel.
This is one of two Eddie Gale records made for Blue Note (1969), recently reissued.
- Joyous explosion with slower Doors-like guitar
- Fast, w/soprano voc. Big and bold.
- A capella intro; mid/slow jazz declarations
- Slow, w/some nice soloing that (i think) includes Roland Alexander and Jimmy Lyons
- Fast, w/vaguely Mexican-sounding trumpet. Starts big and loud
- Mid/fast, tumbling instrumental
- Mid/fast, bouncy
- Starts with an acoustic '60s psych-rock feel ... moves into rolling mid/fast piece, where chorus & horns sing unison lines. Ends with spoken word mysicism on astrology.
