An “electroclash” pioneer but now that the moniker has evolved, been diluted I’m not sure I would be so quick to label her as such. Suffice to say this is electro sample production, with great Zeppelin’esque rock in places, but nasty nasty subject matter (yesssss!), too nasty for the FCC (nooooooooo!). But its as sex-positive as an afternoon at Good Vibrations so don’t be shy! But HEED THE FCC WARNINGS. Track 1 may be the ultimate “fuck you” to the Brittany Spears, industry co-opting of Peaches possible, a thing of pure beauty (!), but don’t even THINK of playing it on the air. All in all, I would say Peaches doesn’t break any new ground for herself here, but that’s okay and there are definitely enough standouts to make this charting material for sure. I am attracted to the rhythms that make me feel my favorite dance craze…
