This CD is kind of creepy. It features “ethereal female vocals” with minimal synthesized or instrumental music. If this is specifically what you are looking for, then it should work well; otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are a couple of tracks that I liked better than others; these are highlighted.
1) Crumbling Stairs (Mauve Sideshow)– synthesized, rippling music; very ghostly; female vocalists sound like they are crying 2) Daymare Pt 3 (Torn Curtain)– edgy, discordant; female vocalists are sing-songy 3) Remember (Thistle)– female vocalists chant angrily; sounds even more ghostly than track one; very creepy 4) Realm of the Spectre (Minus Infinity)– storm sounds in background; softer; varies in sound and speed; very long 5) Angelwaves (Angel Provocateur)– much higher singing; soft; slow 6) In the Middle of the Falling Rain (Mistress of Strands)– much different from the other songs; this one doesn’t seem to strive for the creepy feeling; instead, it is very slow and reminiscent of choral music 7) A Million Years Ago (Steeple of Fyre)– darker, does invoke image of a primitive world; chanting throughout 8) Pathology of Roses (Blessed Oblivion)– also seems very choral; rises and falls frequently; creepy; slow 9) Konkrete Kantikle Pt 2 (Konkrete Kantikle)– cool use of organs; alternately harsh and quiet 10) Dream in Amber (Dream Radiation)– much more active, with frequent changes in instrumentation and number of voices; very pretty in parts
