Progressive rock. Actually this band formed in the 80s as part of Arizona's Rock In Opposition movement, which now apparently has gone back to its roots ;-) So you get the "beat" of math rock & the scales to go with. Overall, music for a carny graveyard. It's a little hard to get your head around, but worth it, because you can make conversation with fans of progressive rock, who often have good drugs and are sexually promiscuous.
1.two songs in one, starts off with fem vocs over odd piano melody, sounding mysterious. Then it goes circus-rock. reminds me of Univers Zero
2.mournful song
3.nice plucked guitar, pretty song gets scary.
4.world sound, military snares kick in for a few seconds. more upbeat than anything prior.
5.brief meandering piano instrumental
6.pulsing guitar, song comes and goes in clumps. about a battle fomenting.
7, 10,12. brief meandering piano instrumental
8.starts w/solo sax. hypnotic. Then water, and haunted house sounds. goes to
9.a little drone with acuoustic guitar plugging its angular melody, & singing,
gets really loud and arty
11.acoustic guitar in parallel sevenths or something like and then the ensemble kicks in for their alternate universe epic rock kick
