Psychedelic and soul covers from a 1968 Venezuelan teenage band. It’s not as bad as the description may sound. There is only one original on the album (track 1), the rest are standard covers of legends like Jimi, Cream, Otis etc. Hendrix is clearly the main inspiration even on the non-Jimi covers. The vocals are sometimes interesting, and there are some interesting psychedelic guitar moments. That’s the band’s only LP. I liked tracks 1, 5, 7 better.
.** The only original in this set. Pretty interesting Hendrix-wannabe blues-rock-psychedelic track, guitars and harmonica.
.Hendrix cover (but track name misspelled).
.Simple version of the Percy Sledge soul classic. Keyboard, prominent bass, not deviating much from the classic.
.Cover of Wilbert Harrison’s classic, rocking-blues track with classic harmonica and guitar. High tempo.
.* Another bluesy cover of a soul classic (Wilson Pickett). Slow, nice little guitar solo. Bird!
.Cover of a Ginger Baker Cream tune – complete with a drum solo, sustained guitar notes.
.Another Hendrix. Some more guitar moments.
.* Old Robert Johnson track (made famous at that time by Cream). Loud distorted version.
.I swear, I never liked this song. This cover doesn’t save it either. Even-heavier organ sound than the original, sluggish vocals, sometimes not accurate...
.One more Hendrix.
.A slower soul cover, complete with mock choir in the background.
.Upbeat, soul/R&B cover.
