Jay Allen -- Fun is Fun but this is Unsanitary
Goofy singer/songwriter -- guy from Boston who has fronted a number of punk bands releases this album of Jonathan Richman-esque cute/kooky songs. All the songs are acoustic guitar plus some backing electric guitar and includes odes to a toaster oven, Mr. Potatohead, twisting one's nuts and chopped liver. Mildly funny, and a bit of an antidote to the many many too-earnest singer-songwriters.
PICS -- 10, 2, 4
1. love song -- British Invasion style
2. love song to a toaster oven
3. ode to a female barfly -- parody of singer-songwriter earnestness
4. nut-twisting song!
5. song about "frying pan justice," mock ballad
6. irish-style goofy guitar ballad, irish accent,
7. weird al style song about chopped liver
8. slow rock, gravelly voice
9. punk song -- english accent vocals + guitar
10. great sad Mr. Potatohead song!!
11. 60s style pop ballad, about love at a racetrack
12. goofy scraggy voice, weird dumb lyrics
13. bad rock ballad
14. punk, big bass line, droning guitar, weird
15. self-congratulatory, not too funny
16. dumb pick-up line schtick at beginning, rockabilly ballad about being last man on earth,
17. slowish rock song
18. another goofy guitar ballad -- "cold bourbon and a spanking"
