Nothing but thick jazz/funk house here. The guy knows what he’s doing and creates a very rich sound with plenty of original bass-lines and nice synth work. The CD is not very original, but if you feel like getting down, check: 2, 4, 6.
1) Thick grooving bass, rock-steady 4-4 with high-hat off-beats. Nice echo-y electronics and synths. Tracks doesn’t have the drops that I’d hoped for, but some nice stuff going on. 2) Remix of the first cut. Tribal opening, lots of syncopated funkyness. Same sexy bassline. This time, the groove is simply irresistible. Don’t even pretend you don’t feel this one! 3) Somewhat lengthy intro, but after the drop at 2:30, things come into focus. Harder beat overall, same high-hop off-beats. Synths, harp, cymbal crashes, bubbly bass. Not fantastic. 4) Undeniably sexy track. Sycopated bubbly synths, simple 4-bar piano hook. Nice work on the vibes. Real mellow. 5) Funk/jazz house. Great echo work, and nice vocal sample. Perfect balance of being mellow and mixing it up with drops, kicks, different keyboards licks, etc. 6) Industrial beat, a dude screaming “Hell yeah!” on the 8-bars, and funky electro stuff going on. Funk lick kicks in around 3:30. Dirty, dirty, dirty. 7) A thinner sound, with a real electro feel. Lots of bass, if that’s your thing. 8) Rather monotonous dub track. Synths sound cheesy and outdated here for some reason 9) Track has promising uptempo beat, but somewhat clumsy guitar riffing, random tasteless flanging, and monotonous flute solos, ruins the vibe for me, despite nice bass lines.
