New Wave pop with today’s electronics by a favorite of the recent electroclash fad. Many of the songs will evoke one of the 80s New Wave stalwarts either in sound or in melody. Some good tracks, some so-so filler.
1. Short intro
2. Poppy with chunky guitar
3. Funky popping bassline, spoken rap
4. Oddly/disturbingly reminiscent of “My Sharona”, perhaps just in its cadence
5. Simpering Human League-like pop
7. Faux sexy, real French
8. Sounding that bored Angeleno note that Berlin did so well
9. Sequencer groove and languid vocals
10. Stuttery funk
11. Synthpop with blasé vox
12. Twee bells and a light New Wave arrangement give this an airy sound
13. Minor-key melody and a very subtle beauty
14. If it’s not a New Wave cover of “Dancing In The Dark”, it’s a shameless ripoff
15. If it’s not a tribute to Human League’s, it’s a tribute to New Order’s sequencer rhythms and understated melodies; nice
