Local, dark, heavy, brooding hard rock. Think the Melvins or 400 Blows with touches of stoner rock. The sound is oppressive and heavy but not too metal. Some tracks are really slow, and touch on doom, while other tracks rock, quick, like math rock. Grunge’s younger sister now coming of age and ready to rip your head off?
**1. Slow, heavy, doom-y. A nice evil groove.
2. Quick, tight, heavy almost-math-rock. Is that Elvis on vocals? Guitar solo and some of that old grunge feel.
3. If AC/DC were heavy.
4. Slow, not heavy riff and mellow singing. Nirvana? Catchy in the same way.
**5. Dark, clean guitar intro. Heavy, pummeling, head nodding. Guitar solo. Does speed up. Instrumental. Fades out very early and ends with clapping.
**6. Really melodic and pretty, in the beautiful indie rock way. Some female vocals. Queens of the Stone Age sound but more indie rock.
**8. Fuzzy, distorted, head banger. The muted guitar riff rocks.
9. Rock-n-roll but heavy.
10. Long. Pretty indie rock guitar and grunge vocals to start but with female backing vocals. Slight Nirvana leanings again. Track ends about 3:20 into the 16 minutes and of course there is a pointless “hidden” track at the end of the 13+ minutes of silence.
Good stuff. -mph
