A singer/songwriter/guitarist from Kenya with a warm, rich voice, a great band, and a varied style. She’s been called “The Tracy Chapman of Kenya.” Mostly folk/pop but there are a few overdone dance tracks that I could do without.
*1. A bright and catchy little romp for vox/strings/perc.
2. Mid-tempo w/nice use of chorus/guitar/perc.
*3. Great vocal/percussion track (plus chorus). A more trad sound.
4. Slower, low-key folksy song in praise of African women.
5. Contemporary uptempo dance track.
*6. Strong vocals, guitars. Warm & relaxed.
7. Another upbeat dance track.
8. Midtempo vox/chorus/perc w/a a touch of funk.
*9. Sweet & light w/English lyrics. About her granny.
10. Vox/programming/chorus. A mid-tempo world anthem.
*11. Delicately swaying w/bright vocals/strings.
12. Dance mix version of #1. I like the first one better.
