Dark trip hop made from sampled live instruments and samples from records. I like this stuff. It is solid, pretty, and well crafted, but I wouldn’t say it’s groundbreaking. Featuring members from GSYBE and Damo Suzuki. Note: tracks 1,6,7 were all one track on the Zenertainment compilation.
1) The vocal sample in this track gets the party started right. 2) light zylophone melody and drums. 3) continues from 2. with added bass. Pretty. 4) Dramatic beats w/ strings. 5)**FCC’s** continued from 4. MC enters and rants about the upper class. (((6))) All made from samples. Nice rhythmic grinding background. (((7))) Dark bass and keyboard melodies. Very nice. 8) buzzing guitar to glitch beats and keyboards. Almost dancey and loungy. 9) guitar and drum jam ((10)) light shaking melody with bass and drums. Keyboards fill it out. 11) industrial sounds and dark 12) light bass melody with quick drums and wabble wabbles. ((13)) good dark guitar, drums, vocals. 14) dark groove ((15)) mellow instrumental that has a nice progression and frantic drum beat. ((16)) Damo Suzuki graces this track with his vocals buried under a sea of drum rifts and keyboards. 17) real slow track, with meandering guitar. The guitar track w/o the drums would make a nice piece. **warning: only 2:40 long, hidden track at ~ 5 min, recording of a tape player playing a pop song. Craaazzzy!
