COLL: re:jazz (remix) Label: Kriztal
I'm pretty impressed with the quality of this remix comp. There's some
innovative work here with the fusion of jazz & electronica. Not your
ordinary electronica album with beats & jazz loops - there's actually a
lot of good solid jazz work with some compelling production. I liked:
1,2,4,8,9,12.
1. uptempo dance-y track, sweet vox, w/ a latin-house groove
2. funky jazz number - sax & grooves - more jazz than dance
3. minimal-house ('micro-house') vocal-jazz interpretation
4. boppy uptempo number - male vox w/ a nice groove
5. dub-reggae tempo w/ sax & smooth fem R&B vox
6. straight-up jazzy house - nice piano & 4/4 beat - big vox
7. driving beat & soulful vox - funky broken tempo
8. crazy broken-beats & bass w/ some soulful lilting vocals
9. beautiful piano work here - this one flows wonderfuly
10. vocals in French, dramatic strings & piano
11. smoky slow and spaced-out tempo w/ mellow piano
12. uptempo electro-funk w/ dramatic diva vocals
