German metalcore with many influences. They never get too techie and never too clean. Their influences come more from metal bands like Bolt Thrower and At the Gates than from hardcore. Lots of wonderful melodic guitar parts to go with the pummeling heaviness. You can understand some of the singing. This is their 3rd full length release. This one has fewer death metal influences and more of the Swedish sound.
1. Piano intro.
**2. Big slow guitars with some brutal screaming. Eventually turns into a big chug with some catch melodic individual note guitar parts during the chorus. What (who) are they singing about?
**3. Music sounds a lot like the last track with a bigger chuga chuga. Includes the first breakdown on the record which include some odd vocals but a great guitar run and what sounds like a “Go” to get out of the breakdown.
4. Keyboard sounds and start/stop guitar to being. Standard riffs and song.
**5. Begins with big scream and right into the fast headbanging fun. Big chugging guitars that are somewhat melodic. Damn is this catchy. One of the best tracks on this record.
6. Start with a gun loading but goes into pretty melodic guitar. Has a distinct rock feel. Sort of like their normal playing slowed down and made more obvious. Eh…not sure I like this.
7. Straight ahead metal riff. A small gallop and a small amount of clean vocals. Oh, screw the clean singing.
8. Brutal, big chugging guitar that’s a bit more choppy. Some spoken/clean vocals.
**9. Fast, tight, into half gallop, then huge growl. Never lets up. Quiet and melodic middle 3rd of the track.
10. Electronic sounds to begin and then big guitars on top. Medium paced with more obvious vocal and what sounds like female backing vocals. The whole track feels uncomfortable.
13. A Disembodied cover. Much more of a death metal sound. Good breakdown even with the clean vocals.
**14. “Hate Squad” cover that has more of a thrash sound. Nice almost breakdown. I might be hearing things, but I hear a Kreator influence on this track.
Not as good as past releases but still good. -mph
