A continuation of last year's "Organic Resonance" CD, which captured these two masters in a live session at Tonic, a Lower East Side mecca for free jazz.

The atmosphere is sparse -- just trumpet and sax -- but full of energy and sparks. They stick to a vaguely jazzy sound overall -- lots of fast, musical runs rather than squeaky/noisy "extended" technique. A session of hearty dialogues.

1- Jazzy and briskly paced; about 30 minutes long. First five minutes make a nice excerpt; they're followed by a blistering trumpet solo and a squeaky sax solo. The middle gets slower and quieter.

2- Grunty, groany start. Gets into some fast, gusy digging in spots but is mostly slow-paced.

3- Sparse but fast; lots of speedy, laid-back bursts.
