The Comas are in indie pop band from Chapel Hill, formed in 1998. They have interesting lyrics and a spacey sound suited for the digital-age.
1. Tense, spacey sound, reminiscent of a spy movie sound track. The slap of strumming is a bit distracting. Mid tempo. (3:53)
*2. Sweet male-female vocal harmonies. Layered, slightly tense interludes, not placid. Mid tempo.(3:14)
*3. Bittersweet guitar paired with bittersweet lyrics. Nicely done. Some distortion. Mid-slow tempo. (3:26)
4. Heavy distortion to guitar and vocals. Fast tempo. (2:21)
5. Spacey distortion and spacey vocals. Slow tempo. (4:07)
6. A pop-rocky tribute to day-to-day employment. Long instrumental break, finishes with some ghostly-sung lyrics. Mid tempo. (3:17)
*7. Strummy, catchy beat and refrain. Mid tempo. (2:21)
8. Tense and mysterious, but with the lethargy of an old cowboy tune. Slow tempo. (5:27)
9. Long, expressive instrumental beginning. Slow, soft vocals. Slow tempo. Ends with a loud, heavily distorted finish. Mid tempo. (5:17)
*10. Echo-y, intimate vocals. Soft acoustic guitar. Slow tempo. (3:40)
11. Bonus track after 3:32 of tone. Energetic vocals and guitar. Mid-fast tempo. (6:45)
