Vinkeloe / Cremaschi / Masaoka / Robair – Klang. Farbe. Melodie.
A quartet featuring a trio of local improv all-stars along with European saxophonist Vinkeloe. Very active, rumbling, playful improvisation, with little sparseness or abrasiveness. Robair’s unique percussion leads the way, constantly lurching and driving forward. The tracks are all pretty short, but there’s still a nice flow throughout the album.

*2. Moody improv builds with thundering drums
*3. Jumpy, led by creative percussion
4. Spare koto-led improv
*5. Crashing underneath meandering flute
6. Fragments of melody stitched together
7. Jittery, nervous percussion
*8. Flowing sax over an insistent background
9. Tense and restrained
10. Pensive group work
11. Slow and angular
*12. Very slow build to rumbling and crashing end
13. Drawn out tones segue into short bursts of sound
