Far Corner from Wisconsin create some original progressive rock & jazz fusion mixed a overall feeling of playfulness & pure fun. One of the main things that makes them stand out is the fantastic electric & acoustic cello work of Angela Schmidt. If you’re looking for comparsions - think of those Belgian “chamer prog” bands like Univers Zero & Présent mixed with a more jazz feeling.
((((1)))) Phenomnal keyboard & cello work, jumps around but not too frenzied.
((((2)))) Jazzy, bass-heavy, nice guitar/piano interplay.
((((3)))) Minimal piano, random bits of percussion & bass. Mostly sparse.
(((((4))))) A spacey version of early ELP? Yep. ‘Cept more balanced playing from each player.
(((((5))))) Back to more minimalist, spare stuff. See #3
((((6)))) WTF? Is this Apocalyptica? Intense, heavy though not metal -the main riff could make a great crunch sound.
(((7))) Solid bass & cello work but overall kinda dull.
(((8))) Mid-paced, lots of interplay in each pattern
(((((9))))) Up tempo, KILLER piano, cello & bass work & very jazzy stuff.
((((10)))) Bouncy & sometimes weird tempos. A real mixed up epic.
