Electric, processed ambient. Ambient drones, with some beat/percussion, late night material. Synthesized and electric guitar/Ebow drones, bleak and unsettling. Long tracks, no vocals except on track 1. I found the three “outlier” tracks most interesting: 6 (heavier beat), 8 (no beat, electric guitar exploration) and 1 (vox).
1. * [Intro, short] Tom Waits-like broken vox, dark drony background, some guitar, some synth touches, drones get louder, dramatic. *
2. Loud consistent drum beat, synthesized drones that again grow louder and louder… beat fades out at -1:30, washed by the ambient sounds.
3. Flows right out of the previous track. Dark percussion (tabla?), screeching drones and noise.
4. Starts with slow/mid beat accompanied by an electric whip-like effect. Then the sustained, dark notes join, in start contrast to the beat, interesting.
5. Cute jungly beat, somewhat lighter track, slightly louder in last 2 minutes.
6. * Bassy electrobeat, almost dance/goth beat, fades in. Tribal, brooding, this is the most powerful track on the album. *
7. No beat. Heavily processed keys, then distant beat joins.
8. * Starts quiet. Dominant electric guitar, quiet drone, white noise. Reminds me of the Pompeii days Pink Floyd. *
