Ruins - Vrresto (Skin Graft) This is a re-issue of their 2002 album. Having not heard them much - I’m quite impressed, weird-ass mix of prog, jazz, funk and some oddball heavy kinda sounds. The oft-cited Magma comparision makes sense as Ruins seem to make things in their own language (musicially and lyrically). Kinda hard to believe it’s only vocals/bass/drums.

((((6))))) Incredible drum/bass trade off, muppets from planet Kobaia shout out random expressions.
((((7)))) Super-off kilter, I dunno what? but I like it! Super funny & fun!
((((8)))) Loony, wild strains of vocals & drums.
((((9)))) Straight-up prog then flys off into weirdo land like Christian Vander & co.
((((10)))) Catchy vocals & bass lines, fantastic drumming.
((((11)))) Bouncy -like bouncing all over the place and never landing in one place too long.
(((((12))))) Slowly builds into a ever turning, winding mini-epic.
((((13)))) Severely warped but continually awesome, “maximal minimalism”.
((((14)))) Back to the freak-outs of the early tracks. You know where there goin’ by now.
((((15)))) Thudding vs. laid back tempos constantly fighting each other.
