A collection of cool "radical pop" from the Montreal music scene. Fun, imaginative pop/nu-wave pop.
1. Begins with something that sounds like Japanese banshees. The female singer sings somewhat reminiscent of Nina Hagen (inventive, theatrical). Monotonous in its structure.
*2. Monotonous bass and synth backbone. Male voice singing a basic pop song.
3. Electro-disco. Depeche mode like. Alternate female and male singers.
4. Glitches and blips mixed with human "Super Mario" sounds.
*5. A beautiful electronic composition. Mixes warm sounds (reminiscent of Yo la tengo) with more estranged ones.
6. Franco-pop, female voice. Bubblegum would describe it nicely.
7. Sexed-up teenage-like indie pop. Two female voices. Possible FCC.
8. Alice in wonderland Sureal, Gong- (or They must be Giants)-like song.
9. Techno/nu-wave song. Distorted voice.
*10. Voice sampling for rhythm and effects. Female voice talking. Funny. FCCs
*11. Repetitious African-kind-of-rhythms, a bit on the industrial side. Female voice.
*12. Psychadelic synth music. Very dense.
13. A piece played solely on Koto, a traditional Japanses sitar-like instrument. Processed as well natural recordings. Very Spacey/trippy.
14. A pastoral, relaxing electronic tune with warm blips and chirps.
15. Relaxing guitar/guitar-like music. Some drums join-in later.
16-17. Pure electronica, kind of pastoral.
18. Jungle/Electronica. A couple of people talking.
