Improvised music in a piano-trio setting. Characterized by fast-moving clusters of piano and light, rapid percussion. Nice stuff from a trio of veteran British improvisers who've worked together quite a bit.
Disk 1 has tracks of 10-15 minutes; disk 2 comprises two 35-minute sessions.
DISK ONE
1- Starts busy, but later on is mostly quiet and/or cautious.
2- Thundering and fast, with a calm quiet middle
3- Sparse. Second half perks up
4- Quiet start, fast and plinky. Near silent around -5:00; best to play the first 2/3 of the track.
5- Very slow and quiet, atmospheric. Gets bustling near the end
6- Heavy-handed bustle.
DISK TWO
7- First 10 minutes are a nice excerpt: Active, vicious around the 6th minute, then slowing to a halt. Quiet patch doesn't last long, as this one keeps busy until the final 11 minutes. Cool bass pulse around -15:00.
8- Slow and groany. Picks up steam starting in the 6th minute but even as it gets fast, it's more reserved and contemplative than B1. Second half is better, starting with cool tumbling segment around -18:00.
