BLACK CAT ORCHESTRA, Long Shadows at Noon
Sounds like a mix between traditional Romanian/gypsy, a 1920’s movie set in the Middle East, a patriotic anthem, and jazz. On this note, it’s very nice. The fem vox can get a little opera-tic at times, she has a very strong voice that is usually backed by an instrument. Most of the songs are sung in another language (There’s one in English and two instrumentals). I’m not really sure if it’s a mix of languages or just one. Anyways, enjoy.

Track One: Cool Romanian. Even has accordion and horns! Deep with viola and fem vox. Pretty gypsy.
Track Two: A little slower. More classical in a sense. More emphasis on strings. Drums kind of drag.
Track Three: Faster. Heavy emphasis on voice. Very pretty. Good use of percussion. Pretty traditional sounding.
Track Four: More of a love song. Slow. Starts off minor. Okay, so this song kind of makes you fall in love with whoever is singing. Vocals are backed by viola/violin.
Track Five: Heavy emphasis on clarinet/oboe. A little bit of a big band feel mixed with orchestra/gypsy. Pretty cello. Mid-tempo. Very Arabian nights. Instrumental
Track Six: Upbeat. Fast tempo. Female vox again. Builds on itself a bit. Nice tambourine.
Track Seven: Kind of 1920’s movie. Very jazzy. Heavy bass drum in the back. Slow tempo. Ohhh, and there’s guitar in this one. It works.
Track Eight: Very slow. Heavy emphasis on strings. Horns back her voice. Nice builds and falls.
Track Nine: In English. Again sounds very old-school, like jazzy 1920’s. But throws in a “Dan-ger-ous” that’s worth listening to.
Track Ten: Nice melody with horn. Minor. Fast-tempo. Has kind of military drum going in the background. Instrumental
Track Eleven: Strong Female voice. Sounds very patriotic. Only in another language. Like a German national anthem. Only I’m not sure that’s German…
