Yuma Nora is the strange improv experimental/noise/jazz trio of Comprised of drummer Aaron Reyna and singer/noise processor Amy Vecchione and Jake Anderson on guitar & ‘specialty sounds’. Mix NYC no wave circa ‘81, Sun Ra’s Arkestra at their weirdest with a vocalist that’s singing a few leagues under the sea - ‘ala Isobel from Bardo Pond.
(((1))) Bizarre, drifting, noisy & jazzy with bits like Sun Ra’s “Koethek” concert.
(((2))) Varied sections some straight-ahead others like early & mangled Sonic Youth.
(((3))) Noisy yet gentle. Strange but true.
((((4)))) Warbly vocals, guitar noodlings, effects squelches, nice, slow bassy meanderings & some bombast
(((5))) Strange but interesting structures nothing really matching the other, nice guitars.
(((6))) Tribal drumming, way out there guitar/noise riffs.
(7) SKIP THIS! Short noisy & annoying!
((8)) So-so guitars, noisy annoyance
(((9))) Short flute solo with squalls of noise. Only 0:26.
((((10)))) Uppity, thudding, wild groove. Would sound awesome live.
(((11))) Slow, noodling with horn, psych guitar & drums
(((12))) Spacey, twiddling on the fretboard & effects.
((((13)))) Nice kinda punkish vibe. The Screamers crossed with God Is My Co Pilot?
((14)) Slow, fish-tank filters at full blast with sloth-tempo fuzz guitar.
((15)) Short piece with flute & occasional laser blasts.
((16)) Rumbling, squealing noise & drums.
