This New York band delivers hot Afro-Puerto Rican bomba and plena music featuring great drumming, vocal harmonies, and energy. Every track guaranteed to make you want to get up and dance, or your money back. Bay Area Latin jazz percussionist John Santos and other guest stars add extra flavors to the mix. Great notes too.
*1. Upbeat, percussion-heavy happy, happy thing.
*2. Deliciously joyful classic plena w/great drums/vocals.
3. Fast & jazzy w/call-response vocals & great energy.
4. Midtempo w/a touch of jazz & smooth female lead vocals.
5. 1 minute slow into a midtempo song about Puerto Rico. Nice.
*6. Jazzy, swinging midtempo dance. Very cool.
7. Midtempo & kind of plaintive w/strong vocals.
8. Busy blend of horns/perc/vocals. Nicely driving.
9. Starts slow, turns into a midtempo drum/chant blend. Cool.
*10. Turns into an uptempo shimmy w/way fast Spanish rap at end.
11. Soaring vox, in a mostly uptemo dance w/great percussion.
*12. Trombones/perc/vocals. Uptempo w/ a great brassy edge.
*13. Cool “nature” sounds from percussion, midtempo vox. Nice.
