Cerebral, highbrow jazz with funk leanings and slick attitude. Saxophonist Osby tries the trio format, backed by just bass and drums. The result is Osby's usual mix of the cerebral and the soulful, but without the piano that packs the chordal punch on most of his albums.
- Mid/fast wandering swing. Intensifies later.
- A stumbling mid/fast theme; peppy but restrained solo
- Heavy beat, long angular sax lines. Midtempo
- Slow, spare. Lots of unaccompanied sax.
- March beat, nice energy
- Strutting mid/slow
- Slowish, slinky. Thick electric bass crawl. Kind of mellow.
- Choppy, fairly fast, and confusing. Yeah!
- Happy, skippy
