Free-jazz trio, a longtime local outfit, adding a second saxophone to complement Oluyemi Thomas' ecstatic bleatings on sax and bass clarinet. Good energetic stuff with a fast, quivering sound and definite ties to the late-Coltrane tradition -- they play almost like it's a spiritual experience. Ijeoma Thomas adds poetic recital and/or wordless vocal on most tracks (exceptions being 4,7,8,10). See also Ike Levin's CDs with Joel Futterman.
- Relatively quiet, with a casual energy
- Skittery and fast. Quiet middle includes a spare drum solo.
- Gentle thumb piano.
- Woodwind duet, relatively calm
- Fast, with two saxes jabbing at each other. Calms down for the last few minutes.
- Pitter-patter drum solo
- Solo sax, soulful
- Quiet start with wooden flute; builds into scribbly free jazz
- Very quiet, with very warbly sax
- Mid/high level of energy
