A hardcore band doing covers of non-hardcore songs. Mostly dark, bass-heavy rock. Some tracks are great sounding, then again they don’t stray far from the originals, like, Jesus Lizard (#3) and Helmet (#4). Others track they twist into something different from the original like PJ Harvey (#2). Look for lots of distortion, odd vocals, and a big low end.
1. They do this classic Ministry track straightforward and like the original. Slightly industrial sounding but with metal guitars. Vocals sound like they are sung through a bullhorn. I like the original better with its tighter sequenced sound.
**2. Wow. At the very beginning, it is hard to tell this isn’t PJ Harvey. The guitar and vocals are very quiet. Then it kicks into a hard rock version of the song with emo-ish vocals. Mostly quiet with bursts of hard rock.
**3. Sounds a lot like the original Jesus Lizard version. Big bass, sneering odd vocals, and a driving low end sound.
4. I’m not familiar with the original Mira song. This track has a goth-y hardcore sound with a good amount of feedback.
5. Like track 3, this Helmet track fits perfectly into C.A.B.’s sound. The beginning of the track is noise, drums, and vocals. There are 3 minutes of silence starting around the 4:30 mark and then what sounds like a live, noisy, lofi version of the Helmet sound.
Good stuff -mph
