A modern mainstream session that feel retro in lots of different ways ... '60s jazz on track 1, '40s swing on track 6, '70s on track 5. Makes for a nicely varied album. Some tracks even pack short solos, just like in the old old days. Mood is mostly sunny.
1- Grand entrance, midtempo. Soaring '60s feel.
2- Tuba funk? Strong midtempo with attitude
3- Light, quasi-classical. Like an early '60s soundtrack.
4- Slinky bass line, lots of short solos
5- Mid/fast, soulful horns, oddly chiming piano
6- Old-timey swing feel, midtempo
7- Upbeat midtempo w/more modern composing
8- Mellow, slow/mid. Lush piano intro.
