Recorded in January, 2005 in Tokyo. The Swedish acoustic trio (12-string guitar, nyckelharpa, viola) exhibits wonderful playing throughout and the harmonies and arrangements are expert. The DVD has info on the band and the fascinating history of the nykelharpa. Watch for applause on tracks…it sounds like a small venue, though, so it has a nice intimate feel to the crowd. All instrumentals, and all good…especially these:
2. Nicely melodic folk w/great interplays.
3. A happy, toe-tapping tune w/a hint of bluegrass.
4. Cool polska with a fun, tripping melody.
5. An elegant, courtly, old-fashioned polska. Vaguely Tudor.
6. Relaxed and lyrical waltz, sweetly evocative.
8. Fun, fast, fun. Happy strings w/a big old toe tapping sound.
9. Bright & bouncy with a nice, galloping feel.
13. Happy and upbeat polska. Great fun.
17. Nicely complex blend of strings in this bouncy dance.
