Yet another cannonfire from the typically reliable UK death metallers. This one has some clear production, great classic DM sound, riffs & tones that seamlessly bridge classic & death metal. Ultimately it’s nothing groundbreaking but consistent in heaviness & intensity. As always more songs about war, war and fucking war. Worth ‘eadbangin’ to for sure!
(((((1)))) Low-end heavy (with nice bass work from Ms. Bench), awesome catchy riffs, guttural but not TOO guttural vocals.
((((2)))) Straight-ahead pummel with simple breakdown.
((((3)))) Thick, slow, lunging but catchy. Kinda similar to Napalm Death’s brief (& odd) mid-90’s “not-quite grind” period.
((((4)))) Lots of drive & groove in the low end. Killer bass sound & Karl Willets simple & direct vocals.
((((5)))) Like a slow version of #1 with a nice riff-ride/slow scales.
((((6)))) Really heavy & simple, THICK riffing.
((((7)))) Fast & pummeling with a nice Slayer-ish wah-laden solo.
((((8)))) 3 note riff with some basic jud-jud that that influenced many a German metal-core band. (See Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban, et. al).
((((9)))) Classic Death Metal merging with classic metal. Done seamlessly & with a lot of spirit.
