Orchestral Twee Pop from members of Leather Hyman. The music is smart enough to appeal to indie pop fans but quirky enough to please those whose taste run left of center. The band fuses elements of Folk, Americana, and even Cajun music to flesh out their sound, which while often compared to the likes of Belle & Sebastian, is really more diverse than that. Vocal performances vary in quality (male vox on trks 4 ,12, & 13) but Listing Ship's playfulness & tongue-in-cheek approach to song writing is too charming to discount. 4) Slowish Chinese Chamber music. Sad male vocals. Pretty Viola solo.
5) Jaunty waltz that's a hybrid of Cajun, Country, & Folk. (Title means "Fuck that" in French)
*6) Slow & pretty with stronger vocals. "Like Nico without the German accent"
7) Playful duet sung in French. Mid-Tempo.
8) Slowish ballad. Soft, dreamy, ambient sounding.
*9) Guitar-driven rockish number with both male/female vocals. Somewhat dark. Sounds like something The Velvet Underground or X might perform.
10) The song "Lemonade" (from a previous record) done backwards, thus the backward masking vocals. Interesting but rather pointless.
11) Mid-Tempo Appalachian folk w/ banjo and whistling solo
12) Cutesy country song. Like a Dave Dudley trucking song.
13) Death ballad. Male Vox.
14) Swooning instrumental w/ violins.
