From Arabic-influenced pop to traditional Malay folk, this typically-varied Rough Guide release delivers a broad range of sounds, united by strong performances. Living up to the reputation of this label, music, it’s worth at least one-star. Great stuff.
1. Cool bellydance-ish ghazal w/accordion accents. Mid/up instr.
2. Modern Malay pop w/hip Arabic female vox & bit of Bollywood
3. Relaxed retro Latin/Japanese sound w/accordion/piano. Way cool.
4. Accordion, production, sort of a mid/upbeat rai/Bollywood mix.
5. Sweet, mid/uptempo, retro movie theme love duet.
6. Instrumental folk dance for flute, strings, percussion. Midtempo.
7. Midtempo, male vox, programming, piano. Cheesily catchy.
8. Mid/up, clear fem vox/chorus/programming, Arabic/Malay pop.
