10LEC6 – “Join Us” CDEP (Troubleman Unlimited)
French drum, bass, female vocals and hand drums group that is part pop, part art punk, and part no wave. It’s a very sparse sound because of the lack of guitar but at the same time feels like punk but is catchy and almost dancy. Band name is supposedly pronounced “dis-lec-six”.
**1. Starts out with an auctioneer doing his thing. No wave-y with a simple rhythm and sassy vocals. Dance punk but with pissed vocals?
**2. Bass sounds more like a guitar. Medium paced with bursts of speed. The track fades out and is really quiet for the last minute.
3. Mumbley vocals to begin like DAVID MOSS into a tribal (the hand drums), catchy tune. Again there are bursts of speed and punk sounds.
**4. A poppy dance punky new wave sound that reminds me of BOW WOW WOW.
Good stuff. -mph
