World/folk/songwriter fusion. Café music, feat. instruments bass & gyil in the deep register, fem sings gently (mostly in English, ensemble from Brooklyn) “The gyil is an African mallet keyboard from northern Ghana” which sounds like a xylophone or marimba. Flows. Laid back, warm, and personal. FCCsafe
+1.Gorgeous and mellow with some fem chanting, sax at end?
2.Song of a remembered love. Nice plucked upright-bass intro. Meanders a bit.
3.Happy semi-jam, wordless vocals in first half, and only lyrics until last minute seem to be the song title. Consider for voiceover?
+4.Light melody tripping, mid-tempo. Italian singing, based on a lullaby (and even without reading that, can tell it’s a children’s melody). I like the alto sax embellishment.
+5. Simple song, ¾ time with subtle rhythms going on, radio-friendly length, though brief “Xena-yell” in the middle is off-putting!
6.slow tempo, “slow blues”, getting-ready-to-close-the-bar kind of music. Radio-friendly
7.Alas, the only track I’d avoid, lacks a center. Mid-tempo w/overdubbed vox.
+8.Faster. First 3 mins are instrumental, then call & response in a language I don’t recognize
+9.Quiet, sparse, introspective duet between gyil & wood flute
Ps. Label has reasonable sales policy “all Engine releases available direct for $6.49”
