Fun lo-fi indie bluegrass/folk. Banjo, guitar. Voice is on the young side. Lyrics are on the snide side in a playful way about urban life. From Montreal vicinity. Very "college radio".
Picks 1,3
**1-(3:13) Starts "take your clothes off jesus".
2-(3:26) Muffled, dirty recording. Singing is on the faint side.
**3-(2:46) Mid/slow raggedy 3/4. Lyrics go into "poetic listing" mode.
*4-(1:02) Fast, hand clapping, shouting banjo strum, harmonica. Instr.
5-(3:28) Quietly flowing, wandering confessional. Occasionally touchingly off-key. Very heart-on-sleeve. Fiddles at end.
6-(2:56) Beat driven. Painful out of tune fiddle. Careful with this one. Lyrics are over-the-top ridiculous/amusing.
*7-(2:43) Hank Williams. old traditional sounding hymn/waltz. Harmony. Makes me wish I were drunk near a campfire.
8-(2:35) Great lyrics. Slow/mid slinky banjo. "Ultra slim fast for the soul, I'll lose that weight lord".
9-(4:07) Fast lo-fi strumming. Harmony. Chromatic melody. "I don't want to make this sound like a bad Phil Collins song".
10-(2:46) Fast. Bass. skeletal drums. A rock-pop beat with banjo.
