Dusky free jazz harkening back to the '70s "loft" era, a quintet centered on the two-sax tandem of Francois Carrier and Dewey Redman. Not a big frenzied blowout but a nicely sculpted session with compositions that form a rich platform for launching energetic solos. Really great stuff; if the long track titles daunt you, try excerpting the first minutes (fading out on the bass solo) or the closing minutes.

1- Pensive, slow sax builds into a cold frenzy, nice. Middle segment with a bass solo. Ends in a nice midtempo jam.

2- Bouncy theme with slight Middle-East exotic touch, catchy. Goes for 6 minutes, then a long bass solo. Some fleet sax work in the awesome closing minutes, coolly joyous.

3- Lovely, lonely sax (it's a great moment after about two minutes when the drums kick in). Nice frenzy after the bass solo. Final couple of minutes get swingy.
