Disco house,/IDM from the UK. The second release of Luke Vibert under the alias Kerrier district. An extended EP with 6 tracks that has a lot in common with the music of his buddy Apex Twin, but with a very strong funky sensibility. Lots of bass, hand-clapping and disco-style synth. No FCCs.
*1. A cool track. Funky bass, hand clapping and a really nice solo on the synth.
2. Monotonous spacey house, with a bass line as in early rap pieces.
3. Cool house. Could be slightly spooky unless it had the very distinct disco feeling. Becomes tiring midway.
*4. Disco with retro touches, Snare and whispering voices for beat, bass, cool synth. Very groovy.
*5. Some spoken word for opening on the background of some very familiar soft jazz piece (I think) that becomes the main theme. Touches of dub here and there.
6. A deep acid house remix of #4 by Vibert’s compatriot Ceephax. Very different.
