Muslimgauze - Speaker of Turkish [73:32]

Dubby abstract glitch-electronic with Field Recordings. Posthumous 2006 release of 1997 material. Almost entirely sparse beats and spiraling rhythmic textures with occasional blasts of electro-noise and samples of spoken Arabic/Turkish field recordings recorded in a Manchester Mosque. Songs (by design) for the most part very long and wander around for a while without necessarily going anywhere. Similar to Random_inc (though in truth, the influence pretty clearly goes the other way around). *All FCC Clean.* Play 1 or 5, others too sparse/rambling for interesting air.

** 1. Dubby percussive groove with most persistent beat of album, with semi-arbitrarily placed Arabic-sounding voice recordings. Ends abruptly. [4:47]

2. Otherwise haunting/lethargic Arabian woodwinds & drums with occasional noise vultures circling around looking to rend your soft tissues. Dies down around 10 min. and returns with a weaker second wind w/ vocal samples of the occasional crying baby, ambient sounds of the home, and what sounds like a sermon. [16:10]

3. Long but ultimately unscintillating meditation on the interplay between computers and traditional middle-eastern instruments and singing. [16:15]

4. Variation on same themes of track 3, with harsher noise intrusions. [16:16]

** 5. Darker & more interesting track, tense and noisy electronic bed weaves in and out of nervous beat with occasional samples of speaking voices and middle-eastern strings. [9:49]

6. Very sparse quiet/dubby/restrained instrumentation with little white noise assassins stabbing at your eyes. Long silence toward end. [10:15]
