Trio of sax/bass/drums, combining some nicely jazzy composing with open-ended improv. The result is a feel that's accessible, even mellow in parts, but frequently "open" and free. Well worth a listen even for "normal" jazz fans. Track times are relatively short, all under 7 minutes.

Mark Helias (bass), Tom Rainey (drums), Tony Malaby (sax), Ellery Eskelin (extra sax on 5)

- Fast and scribbly
- Sultry and mildly exotic tenor sax, a twining slowish theme
- Upbeat shuffle, lots of bass
- Smoky jazz, mid/fast, accessible and nice.
- Pleasantly slow, a two-sax piece w/nice harmony
- Dark, improvvy scribble, harsh. Ends abruptly (1:08)
- Easygoing
- Boppy, fairly fast.
- Midtempo and maybe even a bit romantic
- Sprawling, slowish, tough. Second half gets fast/free.
