Straight out of the basements of Athens, Greece, this brotherly duo (Lakis and Aris) is one of the best stripped down, raw LO-FI ROCK that I have heard in fucking ages. With DIY ethic at work, their 4-track recordings channel the spirit of late 1970s Brit punk and post-punk, but with infectious pop sensibilities and plenty of garage rock edge. For all the fans of Television Personalities, Billy Childish, Go Betweens, the Fall, Swell Maps, the Gories, and Beat Happening look no further. You will be instantly in love. Play this… it’s traveled half way the world and it’s finally in your hands.
Play (all excellent…): 11, 7, 8, 12, 1, 4, 9
1. Intro guitars riffs sound like the Fall. Psych vocals. Chorus rocks out!
2. Groovy garage-pop tune.
3. Soup-soup soup-erman… died yesterday.
4. Raw, hard rocking lo-fi yeh-yeh garage! Rocks hard!
5. Slow, sinister and seductive. Sensual…
6. Garage-y guitar lines with Go Betweens vocal melodies.
7. 77 sec post-punk guitar edge! Kills me.
8. Garage-y with Swell Maps-sounding guitar chaos in the end!
9. Emoting guitar lines and vocals. Dark and heavy.
10. Upbeat Television Personalities-sounding tune.
11. Crazy dance-y. Orgasmic. Makes me wanna twist and shout. Fuck yeah!
12. 52 sec ode to DIY. Repeats “DIY” over and over again with uber cool bass phrases and sound sampling.
