Arty psych folk. Processed weak-boy male vocals (plus a bit of female vocals). Lots of harmonica, processed guitar, quiet acoustic percussion, and chaos. Much of this record is without beats and feels improvised. No track shorter than five and half minutes. Play with Panda Bear, Animal Collective, Anticon artists, Akron/Family, Black Fiction, The Books. FCC clean. Start with 3, 6.
1. Mid-slow pop melange. Fuzz guitar over strong beat. Starts with swelling strings and odd electronics. Gets lush and multilayered. Gets quiet with synthetic strings at end.
2. Slow, psychedelic, and noisy... not much of a discernable beat. Heavily processed, multitracked male vox. Starts with noisy, processed guitar. Ends with quiet percussion and fades into next song.
==> 3. T-Rex glam beat underneath psychedelic, dreamy noise. “You can’t pay the rent with happiness. You can’t pay the rent with love.” Starts confused and beatless. Ends noisy and fades.
4. Fragile, surreal blues lullaby. Female vocals. Starts with echoey, psychedelic harmonicas. Fades on harmonica note, then several secs of silence.
5. Very messy, nearly random jam. Mostly instrumental. Sort of gets a structure after four minutes. Starts with random percussion and random guitar playing. The storm of weird images dissipates at the end, then fades into the next song.
==> 6. Slow, jazzy psych blues with prominent harmonica. Vocals evoke a lobotomized Neil Young. Starts very quiet with bass guitar and brushed drums. Ends with a long, quiet, suspended-feeling jam that fades into next song.
7. Chaotic, layered jam that melts into an epic psych folk piece. Starts quietly with harmonica, guitars, and no beat. Gradually gets a (bit of a) beat after three minutes. Slow fade, then several secs of silence.
