Two ultra-epic folk/pagan metal tracks from Finland. Taking the longest journeys from Enslaved’s “Eld” and Bathory’s “Hammerheart” and then attaching some folky breakdowns along with a minor excursion into black metal. Occasionally their folk side plays like a straight-ahead Finntroll. Overall nothing stunning but a good effort. The biggest minus is the vocals are buried in too far in the mix.
(((1))) Moody, stirring, structure on a range of repetitive, cyclical & basic riffs while throwing in a few fast part after the first 17 or so minutes. Runs over a ½ hour.
((((2)))) Melocholic, folk strumming into a slightly more varied yet still very easy to follow mix of epic/folksy pagan metal. Some parts sound like a “serious” version of Finntroll and othertimes similar to Graveland (minus those idiots “white power” ideas).
