Fans of old 1950s electronic music, take note ...
Noise/electronics, in monochrome low-key snippets that linger like dark clouds overhead. Sounds recall the pioneer days of electronic music: sci-fi blipping combined with anonymous hums and drones. It's retro, in a way. They've also included voices: sped up, slowed down, or run backwards. Strange little trips. FCC safe.
Vulcanus 68 are two local guys: Jared Blum (Blanketship, Bloom) and Dominic Cramp (Borful Tang, Qulfus, Modular Set).
- Crunchy beat buried by slow firestorm sounds
- Quirky blips and a spacey drone, VERY retro!
- Croakings
- "Carpenter frogs." '50s-style computer burbles.
- Abrasive near-vocal sound
- Airplane buzzing; baby sounds & talking.
- Low church-organy groan, metallic rustling
- Boingy pops and snips; active and fairly loud
- Vibrating sounds (or insect buzz)
- Slow bell-like sounds, a distant vocal; toneful blips later
- Quiet beat & strange ethnic horn, then metallic crunching
- Metallic insect chatter + some swoops and swirls
- Glitchy, w/bells
- Warbly la-la vocals, then sci-fi chaos
- Calm eerie wind, with radar blips
- Loud blooping
- A cello-like melody line underneath layers of hiss.
