Really nice sounding instumental rock from Seattle. Some people have lumped them in with the whole current "post rock" thing but this seems to lied between instrumental guitar and ambient pieces. This does here & there manage to "rock" but more importantly they have a pretty consistent flow to each song. J.W.E. does really well when the delve into the pretty, introspective, quiet moments. In all, a very solid album.
((((1))))) Loud, resonating guitars and a sort of epic feeling.
((((2)))) Shimmery, twangy, with pit-er-pat drums.
((((3)))) Slow, minimal, pretty with a sudden loud burst of flangered & distorted guitar. A little something for when the sun goes down.
(((((4)))) Very chilled ambient later experimenting with a small layer of distortion.
(((((5)))) More chilled out, droning ambient.
((((6))) Modern "indie psych". Gets really mellow at the last 50 seconds.
((((7))))) Warbling, drifting, sparse to occasional build ups of strumming and drumming bits.
(((((((8))))) Simple, sparse chords continually mixing the quiet vs. loud. Both elements are played extreme well here.
