AWESOME thunderous, late-60’s-early 70’s hard rock/proto-metal with tons of organ & guitar riffs. These Scottish dudes kick out the jams as much as Deep Purple (who they played with back in the day), Arthur Brown and Uriah Heep. However, the second disc/album, “Buffalo” is a COMPLETE disappointment. It’s chock full of bad blues rock and half-baked jams. Another hippie-era band that flamed out too quick.
((((1)))) Fairly heavy late 60’s rawk with some nice organ and guitar riffage.
(((((2))))) Good vocals & chorus with some serious rockin’ tempos & drumming.
((((3)))) Typical hippie-era “laaaady” song but some tight organ/drum/guitar interplay.
((((((4)))))) Occult-ish/mystical stuff: total Arthur Brown vocalisms/spoken word sections, insane amounts of organ and doomed out riffage! AWESOME!
((((5))))) WTF? A drunken sea shantey with accordian then funky organ and “ohhaahhh” vocals. Craz-ee!
((((6)))) Swiriling organ and fast/bombastic tempos ‘ala prime Arthur Brown/Deep Purple.
((((7)))) Swinging tempo with a few strides to pop melodies via proto-metal histronics.
(((8))) Ballad-like, typical for the era but not bad.
(((9))) Lame vocals but pretty solid playing.
((((((10)))))) Killer, hard edged rocker with a lotta attitude, raw guitar tone, ripping breakdowns.
((((11)))) More mystical/occultish (albeit silly) stuff but the riffs and organ sound is incredible, so dig it.
AVOID – DISC II – it’s on the wrong drugs!
