Free jazz, Chicago style, meaning a reverence for the jazz tradition amid tumultuous free passages and pensive quiet segments.

Quartet of sax, bass, and two drummers. The double drums doesn't have an effect at first glance, but they produce some interesting African-influenced rhythms behind the sax/bass improvising, and give the music a hard-driven energy even in slower passages. Overall, an awesome live session.

DISC 1
1- A fast sprint that lasts 18 minutes.
2- A slower, dark mood that picks up in the second half.

DISC 2
3- A bit dark, restrained, stretching into a mid/fast jam. Second half quieter, more abstract, with a ferocious ending.
4- Fast improv that gets into a hard primitive stomp. Long drums solo and a nice choppy coda.
5- Friendly midtempo stroll, melodic and upbeat, not slow but in no hurry. Gets strong in tone/attitude, in drumming.
6- Fast pecking on sax, a jumpy playful mood. Calms after 3 mins; says fast but opens up more, with sax runs building to longer flowing lines. Abrupt ending.
