TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA - "Danza II: The Electric Boogalo (Metal Blade)
Over the top technical metal and metalcore with a huge sense of humor. The tracks are heavy and complicated with guitars flying all over the place and the music changing all the time. And is this a concept record? About a midget slaughtering the people at a Louisiana dive bar? Sorta nice to see comedy from bands like this without eight layers of irony. Think bands like ION DISSONANCE and INTO THE MOAT.
2. Lots of squealing guitars, maybe too many. A lot of the guitar sounds on this track are very unique sounding. Very dissonant.
*3. Quick riffs and stop/star. Techie grind riff after the opening. Their speed changes are crazy on this track.
*4. The guitars sound tuned down a long ways on this track. The tone isn't far from MESSUGGAH. This whole track reminds me a lot of MESSUGGAH. Nice heavy chugging with guitar runs thrown in every once in a while.
6. Slower, heavier, with a big bass sound. They do speed up a bit and go techie.
7. Head banging chug interspersed with guitar runs. There is a groove that shows up every once in a while.
8. Pummeling mixed with guitar shredding and the short bursts of shredding remind me of ORTHRELM guitar.
9. Hard to tell this track apart from the others. Too many guitar squeals at the beginning of the track. Pummeling low end riffs at the end.
10. Different sounding than the rest of the tracks. Not as much high pitched guitar shredding. Numetal?
12. More metal as opposed to metalcore. Grindcore moments. Is that a bass or a guitar that's doing that low end MESSUGGAH sound?
OK stuff. -mph
