Sax and piano-led band, in a mostly mainstream vein with some outside twists (intro to 4, e.g.). There's a bit of '60s jazz nostalgia in the horn/flute lines.
1- Quick paced, twisty post-bop. Gets nice and stormy later
2- Deep ocean-waves piano, then a mid/fast, mildly mellow feel
3- Midtempo straight jazz, warm and soft. Spacey flute intro. Wild abandon at the end.
4- Slow, soaring, and glossy. Buzzy avant-garde sax intro
5- Snappy mid/fast, after bass solo intro. 14-minute track, but it's got a great trombone/sax double-solo in there.
6- Mid/fast burbling, cool smoky feel
