The Battle of Land and Sea/Self Titled
Notenuf Records 200 Review: Andrea
Folk definitely taking a page or four from Mazzy Star and the ubiquitious Cat Power needs mentioning. Some interesting work, the cover is particularly intriguing. Sparse melancholic writing.
1) 3:26 Slow starts with a low atmospheric note and builds, lovely.
2) 3:06 Slow, pretty la deed ahs.
3) 3:44 Slow, nice harmonizing, tambourine and guitarwork.
4) 4:02 *** Slowed way down from the original. Interesting cover.
5) 3:31 *** mid-tempo starts with hand claps. I like the writing and arrangement on this one quite a lot.
6) 5:16 *** Slow, false start with giggling and Mazzy Star guitarwork. Love the writing and whispering on this one.
7) 4:23 * Slow and quite pretty, the vocals are almost ethereal.
8) 5:05 Slow. Pretty, nice writing.
