Mod new wave pop-- a big throwback to about 1980 and maybe they would have been huge back then too, opening for the Jam or Elvis Costello, XTC etc. I grew up on music like this and I do realize that it might sound dated coming from these guys right now. Derivative, too, perhaps but generally pretty tolerable. Nonetheless, there's probably nothing like this right now in the A file and I would prefer listening to this than an average pop-punk band (though not a good one). You decide. Read the inserted liner notes, I think this is going to be/has been pushed pretty hard.

1 almost ska-ish, pretty hot
2 mid-fast, funky beat, very active sound
3 a bit lighter, like a slightly edgier Blur
4 fast, poppy, reminiscient
5 fast, rocking, a bit pat
6 starts somewhat funky like a Gang of Four hit, singing innocuous, really produced strings come in, they might want this to be a commercial hit
7 pounding drums, interesting fuzzy guitar and melody, this is a good one
8 poppy new wave with ok guitars, vocal inflections like Lene Lovich (I know there is a male equivalent, but I can't think of who it is), slightly clever lyrics
9 catchy, real arena feel in the chorus kind of ruins it
10 short little interlude, Ted Leo 'first to finish, last to start' comes to mind
11 cool, guitar work, a bit post-punk, time signatures, but chorus is repeated too many times
12 Too much repetition in the chorus, after 5 mins 2 minutes of silence and then a wacky little song that reminds me of Madness
